About this event

Microbiology is one of the 15 Academic Testing Center (ATC) tests, sponsored by NGL/Cengage, and is item 101 in the CE Code, which prints no abbreviation for it. It is a 50-question multiple-choice test taken in 60 minutes with a tiebreaker, written at the recall, application and analysis levels from the named resource, and it covers applied microbiology for infection prevention, weighted toward infectious diseases, the chain of infection and immunity. Academic Testing Center tests are open to the Secondary, Postsecondary, Collegiate and Alumni divisions and are offered at ILC and, where the state advisor chooses, at chartered association conferences. There is no qualification between levels: a member may test at state, at ILC, or both. ILC registration includes one ATC test and each additional test costs $20, with pre-registration required and no walk-ups. Dress bonus points are not awarded. At ILC every tester receives a certificate of participation, the top ten scorers across all divisions are recognized and the top three receive special recognition; state-level awards are set by the state advisor.
