About this event
MRC Partnership is a team event (2 to 6 members) for the Secondary and Postsecondary/Collegiate divisions, sponsored by the Medical Reserve Corps. The team's chapter must form a real partnership with a local MRC unit (found through the ASPR unit locator), file the MRC's partnership notification form, and complete a Partnership Verification Form and a Partnership Logistics Document signed by the unit leader at the start and again after reviewing the finished portfolio. Activities run from July 1, 2026 to May 15, 2027, and each one is written up with its name and description, an impact category (such as strengthening public health, serving a vulnerable population or improving community preparedness) and a description of how the chapter and the MRC worked together, with metrics like hours and people reached. Round One is a pre-judged portfolio of at most 16 pages uploaded as one PDF by May 15, worth 60 points. Every team that uploads advances to Round Two, a five-minute presentation to judges with notecards only, worth 70 points, covering the activities, whether goals were met and the impact on the community and the chapter; all members must speak. The total is 130 points and ties are broken by the highest-value rubric sections. HOSA's 2026-27 update summary said the verification form would rise from 5 to 15 points, but the published rating sheet still scores it at 5.
