About this event
Organizational Leadership is a solo written test for the Secondary and Postsecondary/Collegiate divisions that is run at the chartered association (state) level, not at ILC. Its purpose is to help associations select voting delegates for the International Leadership Conference when their bylaws do not already define a method, and to push members to learn how HOSA works. The test is new at 50 questions this year and covers the voting delegate's role and responsibilities, parliamentary procedure, HOSA Inc., the organization's structure, its history, the positions and duties of the Executive Council, and membership. Questions are written from the HOSA Handbook sections A, B and C, the HOSA website, Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised in Brief and the new First Fifty Years publication. The test is 50 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes with an essay tiebreaker. Selected delegates must read the voting delegate packet and the Executive Council candidates' resumes before ILC and attend the orientation, candidate breakfast, business session and recognition session there.
Test day
What to expect
60 minutes, 50 questions
You have 60 minutes for 50 questions written from the event's published test plan. Official format: 50-question test, 60 minutes, plus an essay tiebreaker (state conference only).
Written from the test plan
Questions follow the event's published test plan, section by section, and are written from the listed reference texts. Practice questions here are drawn in the same proportions.
How you advance
How many advance from regionals to states and on to the International Leadership Conference (ILC) depends on your association's rules. Study the official test plan: it lists each section and its share of the test.
