About this event

World Health and Disparities is a solo written test for the Secondary and Postsecondary/Collegiate divisions. Forty percent of the questions cover health disparities and diversity; the rest is split evenly between what health is, disparities in treatment and medical decisions, and ways to reduce disparities. Unlike most HOSA tests, much of the content comes from websites frozen as of September 1: Our World in Data, the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, the WHO health equity fact sheets and Q and A, and selected KFF health policy topics, alongside the textbook Health Disparities in the US (Barr). The event is one round of 50 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes with an essay tiebreaker.
