About this event

The HOSA Service Project is a chapter recognition event open to all three divisions that supports NMDP (formerly Be the Match), the marrow and blood stem cell registry. Chapters plan service projects with goals and strategies, and each member logs volunteer hours in the NMDP Volunteer Portal under the chapter number. Chapters register a new team fundraising page each school year at NMDP.org/HOSAChapters, use their chapter join keyword so registry sign-ups are credited, and may send checks with a contribution form. Chartered associations outside NMDP's reach work with HOSA to name a comparable organization. Points accrue as one point per dollar raised, one per volunteer hour, 20 per person added to the registry, five per pre-registration and 20 when the team captain downloads the fundraising app. Chapters reaching 100 points between June 1, 2026 and May 15, 2027 earn a Certificate of Recognition and those reaching 500 points a Certificate of Merit, with no medals. NMDP also presents certificates to the top middle school chapter and the top three secondary and postsecondary chapters in fundraising, recruiting and total points, plus banners for the top overall chapters in each division. Funds must reach NMDP by June 1, 2027 to count toward its own incentives.
